Care Guide
Your Nirvita saree is a precious piece of craftsmanship. With the right care, it will remain beautiful for generations.
General Care Tips
- Air it out in the shade after every wear to release moisture before storing
- Dry clean silk sarees after every 4–5 wears — avoid home washing
- Cotton weaves can be gently hand-washed with a mild detergent in cold water. A little colour bleeding in the first few washes is completely normal
- Always use sharp safety pins to avoid snagging the fabric
- Iron on the reverse side only, on a low heat setting, with a soft cotton cloth placed over the saree
- Keep perfume and deodorant away from the fabric — spray before draping, never after
Storage
- Wrap in a muslin or soft cotton cloth — never plastic, which traps moisture and damages silk over time
- Refold along different lines every few months to prevent permanent crease marks
- Place moisture-absorbing silica sachets nearby to protect from humidity
- Never use naphthalene balls near silk — the chemicals damage the fibre over time
A Note on Handloom
- Slight irregularities in the weave and variations in yarn texture are natural characteristics of hand-woven textiles — not defects
- Colours may appear slightly different across screens and lighting conditions
